Song requests!

13 DAYS!!

This weekend (among many other things), we're working to put together a list of songs that we'd like the DJ to play at our reception, and we want YOUR help! We know that many of you who read this blog will be joining us for the reception, and there will definitely be the option for song requests on the day of, but if you have any fabulous song ideas NOW, we'd love to add them to our list!

Here's what we're looking for:

-garter toss/bouquet toss songs
-dollar dance song
-last dance song (something fast and fun!)
-a couple good slow dance songs to throw in the mix (to appease Kevin, I suppose this will have to include country music :) )
-calm, chill music to play during the mingling/lunch portion of the reception (background music) (We're having some trouble with this one, so any ideas would be lovely!)
-and lastly, of course, just general dance music for the dancing portion of the reception

Can't wait to hear everyone's ideas! THANKS!!

  1. Hey there hayyy:

I have suggestions for background music during lunch!! Okay so there is this group called Vitamin String Quartet that basically covers ALL genres of contemporary music in violin form. I used their stuff as background music for my dad's wedding and it was a huge hit. They literally cover everything, and even have wedding mixes.I found most success with compiling all my fave songs than the mixes but the best ones were U2 songs, Dashboard confessional and coldplay that sounded really cool. My personal favorite song was their cover of AC/DC's "Shook Me All Night Long" So yeah itunes Vitamin String Quartet.

  8. Hi Hollyanne and Kevin -

Noelle and I (Patrick) are Karla and Tim Gill's kids and we really enjoy your blog site and think it's such a great idea. We have several song choices we thought you may want to consider...they are some of our favorites and we feel they would fit the different moods perfectly!

"Hey Mama" by Mat Kearney - great dance song with an awesome beat

"Where We Gonna Go From Here" by Mat Kearney - sweet slow dance song

"All Love," "The Way I Am," "You and I" by Ingrid Michaelson and "She Is Love" by Parachute- these 4 songs are great for light background music with a nice feel good quality

These next songs are pretty good dance songs...
"Don't Wanna Go Home" by Jason Derulo
"The Show Goes On" by Lupe Fiasco
"I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas
"Rolling in the Deep" by ADELE

Some good country songs for both slow dancing and party songs are...
"Watching Airplanes" and "Best I Ever Had" by Gary Allan
"Me and Tennessee" by Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw from Country Strong
"Colder Weather" by Zac Brown Band
    "Stuck Like Glue" by Sugarland
    "Hello World" by Lady Antebellum
"The Best Day" by Taylor Swift

I hope you all like these choices and we can't wait to see you all and the rest of the Fricke Family!
