Song requests!
13 DAYS!!
This weekend (among many other things), we're working to put together a list of songs that we'd like the DJ to play at our reception, and we want YOUR help! We know that many of you who read this blog will be joining us for the reception, and there will definitely be the option for song requests on the day of, but if you have any fabulous song ideas NOW, we'd love to add them to our list!
Here's what we're looking for:
-garter toss/bouquet toss songs
-dollar dance song
-last dance song (something fast and fun!)
-a couple good slow dance songs to throw in the mix (to appease Kevin, I suppose this will have to include country music :) )
-calm, chill music to play during the mingling/lunch portion of the reception (background music) (We're having some trouble with this one, so any ideas would be lovely!)
-and lastly, of course, just general dance music for the dancing portion of the reception
Can't wait to hear everyone's ideas! THANKS!!

Fiance Friday!
Blog-O-Sphere!
It's been so long! I know, I've missed you too. It's not you, it's me. No, really it is. Ok enough of that. The point is, I'm not going to be a fiance much longer! What on Earth will we start calling this section of the blog?? Man Monday? Wedded Wednesday? I'm at a complete loss! Help!!!
As many of you know, the big wedding is only 15 days away! Holl and I have been buy making things for the reception, as well as taking care of some last-minute details. We've been talking about all of these things for so long that now it's FINALLY almost here!
We had a phone conversation with our priest, Fr. Bert Thelen, SJ, on Monday to discuss plans for the Wedding Mass itself. There are literaly options for us to pick for EVERY part of the Mass! Thank goodness the Archdiocese of Omaha actually sent us a booklet with everything in it. so we could easily pick and choose what we wanted. Makes for much easier wedding planning! Any guesses on which readings we have chosen for our wedding? Lector's, you are not allowed to chime in, since you already know! I'll give a little bit of a hint. They are all readings from the Catholic Church's Rite of Marriage.
Anyhow, that's about it from me for today! Hope you all are having a great summer so far! Just an FYI if you plan on attending our reception...It might be BYOC (Bring Your Own Canoe)!

Plans for the upcoming weekend include working on the photobooth backdrop for our wedding reception. We are attempting to create one ourselves, so stay tuned for the results.
In other news, we are so excited about the props we just purchased for the booth from this Etsy shop.
Can't believe we are only 22 days away from wedding day!

hair!
So, now that I'm officially graduated and likely to begin my period of funemployment soon, there's much more time to think about the fun wedding details. First up: hair! I'm pretty torn about what to do with my hair for the wedding - on the one hand, I wear my hair half-up, half-down most days, so it's a style that I'm comfortable with and that's very "me," but on the other hand, I really like some of the hair-up styles that I'm seeing in photos and on blogs, and having it up might be better considering the likely heat & humidity.
Here's a few photos for inspiration - what do you all think?

We're alive, we promise.
Hello loyal readers!
Don't worry, we're still alive.
Unfortunately the business of this semester (K starting a new job, & me writing my thesis and figuring out what to do with my life after graduation, just to name a few) has resulted in a lack of attention to our dear little wedding blog.
But do not fear....with just 46 (yes, FORTY-SIX) days until the big day, we are in the throes of planning, especially all the little (and fun!) details like homemade decorations, hair & makeup planning, place cards, and other personal touches, all of which I will have MUCH more time to write about after I GRADUATE (yes, I'm excited. very.) this Friday.
Look for more posts starting next week, and we can't wait to see many of you in just a few short weeks in the big O!
